First Post
Years ago I was a dedicated lurker on LJ. I heard this is the new incarnation.
I've been on tumblr for a few years now, and while I like it's function as a news/opinion aggregator, I find myself completely silent. Reblogs are just echoes, and my original content feels restrained. The atmosphere is all wrong for me now.
I got really into tumblr in my days as an undergrad and in post-collegiate life it made me feel connected to the radical ideas and people that I had grown to love. It was a time where I was committed to learning. To really listening to what people were saying about their experiences and their lives. I accrued a lot of information over these years. I am more compassionate and I certainly see things through a wider lens.
I'm turning 25 in a week or so, and it feels appropriate to start using my voice again.
I'm afraid that if I don't start speaking again soon, I'll forget how.
